Who is this card for?

The card_name is for those wanting a premium rewards credit card, who have excellent credit and who travel extensively to justify the cost. The annual fee may be a deal breaker for those who aren't frequent travelers, so this card is best suited for those who travel regularly and know how to maximize rewards redemption options. It's also a great choice for those who fly often as cardholders get lounge access at select airports.

Features

Generous signup bonus

You can bonus_miles_full. You can transfer it to different travel partners, though redeeming these points tends to be better at the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal.

Rewards earnings

Cardholders can earn points in the following categories:

  • 10 points per dollar on hotels and car rentals through Chase Ultimate Rewards.
  • 10 points per dollar on Lyft rides through March 31, 2025.
  • 5 points per dollar on flights through Chase Ultimate Rewards.
  • 3 points per dollar on travel and dining.
  • 1 point per dollar on all other qualifying purchases.

Travel partners

You can transfer points earned on your card_name to over 12 airline and hotel partners, like Hyatt and United Airlines. In most cases, you can transfer points at a 1:1 ratio. These transfer partners mean your rewards can be flexible, though you can transfer points back to Chase once you've transferred them over.

Lounge access

You will get access to several airport lounges, including Priority Passes (and select restaurants) and Chase Sapphire Lounges for yourself and up to two guests. There are currently three Chase Sapphire Lounges and over 1,300+ global locations for Priority Pass™ lounges.

Annual travel credit

You get a $300 credit each year you're a cardholder to go towards qualifying travel purchases charged on your card_name. This category can be fairly broad, such as purchases for hotels, flights, cruises and more.

The fine print

There are several more benefits that can help make the annual fee worth it, including:

  • Travel insurance: Cardholders can receive trip cancellation and interruption insurance, lost luggage reimbursement, primary rental car coverage, trip delay coverage and more.
  • Extended warranty: You can get up to an extra year on a U.S. manufacturer's warranty on purchases that have qualifying warranties of up to three years.
  • Purchase protection: Receive coverage for qualified purchases for up to 120 days for theft or damage up to $50,000 per year or $10,000 per claim.
  • No foreign transaction fees: You won't be charged an extra fee when you use your card to make purchases abroad.

Additional hidden perks

The Chase Sapphire card also offers access to Reserved by Sapphire, which is a benefit that gives you exclusive booking and reservation opportunities. There is also access to The Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection, giving you elite benefits at over 1,000 hotels and properties worldwide. Other benefits include a year of complementary DoorDash DashPass and Instacart+ subscriptions.

Where the card doesn't measure up

The card_name card isn't suited for those who can't afford or don't want to pay the steep annual fee. Even if you have excellent credit, this card may not be the best fit if you're not a frequent traveler and struggle to use the perks like the $300 travel credit or $100 TSA PreCheck® credit. Travelers who want more types of lounge access may find the ones offered by Priority Pass™ not as nice as others offered through other credit cards.
